The Roman poet Juvenal once wrote, “It is difficult not to write satire.”
Our guest Scott Johnston has coined similar sentiments as he has lampooned and written extensive commentaries on the insanity plaguing elite educational institutions. However, Johnston is more than just a culture war critic. He has broken huge stories like the “anti-racist” faculty demands of Dalton, founded two tech companies, opened nightclubs, and has written on a range of subjects. Scott's unique understanding and perspective on the philosophy that is tearing campuses apart prepared us for what we can only imagine will be another year of campus chaos.
We were grateful to host Scott in conversation with The Jefferson Council executive director Sam Richardson on Wednesday, August 21. They discussed the ongoing cultural war and the postmodern Marxian inspiration for Johnston’s book and soon-to-be miniseries, Campusland.
Thank you to all who joined us for this virtual event.
