How The Open-Government Movement Can Revolutionize Public Policy At UVA

As a public university, the University of Virginia not only receives funding from generous alumni and donors, but also from the Commonwealth’s tax payers. If we follow the money, what will we find?

On Tuesday, June 4, The Jefferson Council’s Jim Bacon continued our virtual series by sitting down with Adam Andrzejewski, founder and CEO of OpenTheBooks.com. Adam and his team have posted nearly "every dime, online, in real time" for the first time in American history. They open the books, audit them, and force real-time reforms. Andrzejewski and his team are speaking truth to power in some of the most important public policy battles of our time — and now they’ve turned their watchful eye on the University of Virginia. Just how much student and taxpayer money is being spent on ideological projects and staff?

Thank you to all who joined us for this virtual event.
